British Isles
After looking at maps of Ireland, Wales and the English country side, we decided to book cottages in Kinsale, Ireland, Newport, Wales, a village in Uffculme in Devon, England and an apartment in Wilton, England a few miles from Salisbury. We left Ireland from the ferry port of Rosslare - The high speed ferry to Fishguard Wales took about two hours across the Irish Sea. The owner of the cottage we rented met us at the ferry port in Fishguard and drove us to our cottage. The cottage is in Newport seven miles from Fishguard. We familiarized ourselves with the quaint town of Newport quickly - pubs and cafes serving home cooking - local wines and delicious desserts.
The owners of each residence were nice enough to arrange their time to meet us at the train stations and the ferry stop in Wales. Our locations were chosen with two important things in mind - one - a village with a pub within walking distance and two - that the transportation hubs were close by either bus or taxi.
